I qualified as a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, certified by the Awareness Training Institute and the Greater Good Science Center at the University of California at Berkeley. This was a 2 year program by eminent founding teachers Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. I am also registered as an Associate Member of the International Mindfulness Teachers Association and a listed teacher of the Hong Kong Mindfulness Teachers Network. This means that I have qualified from an accredited Mindfulness Teacher training program, adhere to a recognised standard of practice and ethics, and also have a commitment to ongoing Mindfulness practice.
As a qualified medical doctor turned corporate HR leader, my personal and professional journey has been about discovering what it really means to live and lead well.
Incorporating Mindfulness into my life has been a transformative process. My exploration began as a way to calm an anxious disposition. It grew to become a way I could thrive and flourish even amid personal and professional challenges. The ability to pause with the present moment experience has profoundly impacted the way I act in the world and interact with others, giving me increased empathy, resilience and courage.
I have learned to take a step at a time, a moment at a time, mindfully attending to what is present and beneficial to me and those around me. This vital insight has enabled me to make better choices and acquire new skills and attitudes to improve my life and leadership.
My background in Medicine gives me a deeper understanding of how Mindfulness can positively affect us mentally, emotionally and biologically. My Human Resources and corporate background then helps me translate this into practical, accessible and effective content and techniques that people and companies can learn, use and benefit from.
